E-Skills

It's The Ruddy Future

e-skills are a government-funded, non-profit body, who do a lot of great work, improving IT skills in the UK.

When they needed to inspire web-savvy 14-19 year olds to consider a career in technology, naturally they came to us.

Funny, irreverent and inventive, our viral video was designed to change teenagers' preconceptions about careers in IT. It showed them they already 'do IT' everyday (through the web, phones and games) while debunking the myth that studying IT is geeky and dull.

All the elements of the video were tailored to our young audience - including the voice-over artist (a chap from E4, who loves an innuendo). The piece communicated an important message, while always being edgy and entertaining.

The viral was seeded across various video networks (YouTube, Vimeo etc) and clocked up 65,000 views in the first two months alone.

Plus, we built a microsite to house the video, with send-to-a-friend functionality to improve viral outreach - and some rather fruity sound clips.
